Projects and Referrals

Below are the counselling projects we currently run at Sorted. When making a referral please ensure you refer into the correct project. All counselling takes place at our office in Dunstable (online counselling may be offered to clients 16 and over)

Daisies

Self-Funded

We offer a self-funded option, which is not-for-profit and low cost, for those who wish to access counselling more quickly, typically within 1–2 weeks. This option is tailored to the client’s needs and can include open-ended sessions.

Assessment and session fees (self-funded option):

​

  • £20 - Assessment for counselling with a qualified counsellor. â€‹

  • £40 per session - One-to-one session with a qualified counsellor.

  • £30 per session - One-to-one session with a trainee counsellor (available subject to the outcome of the assessment)

 

An assessment is conducted prior to counselling to understand the client’s needs, ensure the right support is provided, and determine the most suitable type of counselling.

Criteria for counselling:

​

  • Be aged 10 to 25 years old.

  • Lives in Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire (be able to access our office)

  • Have made a referral prior to turning 25 years old.

  • Consent from the young person who requires counselling if the referral is made on their behalf.

Sometimes life can be very difficult and it can be hard to cope on your own. At Sorted we offer free, confidential, one-to-one counselling to support young people aged  12 - 25 Years old.

  Criteria for counselling:

​​

  • ​To be aged 12 to 25 years old

  • Live in Central Bedfordshire.

  • Referred and be on our waiting list prior to turning 25 years old.

  • Consent from the young person who requires counselling if making a referral on their behalf.

 

December 2025  – Current wait time for our free service is in excess of 6 months

Community Counselling  
 

Spring Branches

Fortis

Fortis is a specialist project offering counselling to children and young people from 5-18 years old who have experienced or witnessed Domestic Abuse in their families or within their own relationships. They can access 8 free weeks of counselling. This can be accessed in Dunstable.

 

  Criteria for Fortis

  • ​To be aged 5-18 years old

  • Not living with Perpetrator

  • Live in Central Bedfordshire

  • Must be able to attend our office in Dunstable

  • Consent from the young person who requires counselling if making a referral on their behalf​

​

We are unable to take referrals for this project due to demands on the service and available funding - we will review in March 2026 in relation to opening the waiting list

Caladium Plant Leaves

Evolve is a specialist project offering Counselling to children and young people aged 8-25 years old who are at risk of becoming involved or exploited through crime. This could include sexual exploitation, gangs, county lines, knife crime and grooming.

 

   Criteria for Evolve

  • Aged 8-25 years old

  • ​Must live in Central Bedfordshire or Luton

  • Consent from the young person who requires counselling if making a referral on their behalf
