Jess van der Hoech is a qualified therapist and supervisor specialising in adoption, complex trauma and dissociation. She provides therapy to children, young people, and adults throughout the UK via Zoom or in person within Beds/Bucks.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Jess has authored several books aimed at addressing trauma-related issues. Her publications include "These Three Words," a therapeutic novel for teenagers that connects feelings, emotions, and behaviours associated with anxiety, and the "Tales of Tully" series, which explores challenges faced by families through the story of a newly adopted ex-Bosnian street dog adjusting to life in the UK.
Join us for an insightful and engaging training event designed for professionals working with children, young people, and adults impacted by early trauma. This immersive session will explore how trauma shapes brain development and how it manifests in behaviour—often misunderstood as defiance, withdrawal, or emotional dysregulation.
Through powerful case studies and storytelling, we will bring real experiences to life, helping you connect theory with practice. You’ll gain:
✅ A deeper understanding of trauma’s impact on the developing brain
✅ Practical insights into interpreting and responding to trauma-related behaviours
✅ Strategies to foster resilience and create trauma-informed environments
Whether you're in education, healthcare, social work, or mental health, this training will equip you with the tools to see beyond the behaviour and support lasting change.

Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your professional practice and make a real difference in the lives of those affected by early trauma.
